UKRAINIAN WORLD CONGRESS CONDEMNS THE SHOOTING DOWN OF A MALAYSIAN PASSENGER AIRLINER BY RUSSIA-BACKED TERRORISTS
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) expresses condolences to the families and friends of the victims travelling on a Malaysian passenger airliner from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it was shot down by Russia-backed terrorists. The flight was carrying 295 passengers from various countries.
This blatant act of horrific magnitude and inhumaneness once again confirms the serious threat to global peace and security posed by Russia-backed terrorists in Eastern Ukraine.
Today, the world has learned that, despite yesterday’s announcements of further sanctions by the United States and the European Union, Russia brazenly continues to escalate its aggression and destablize the situation in Ukraine.
Therefore, the UWC reiterates its call for the international community to immediately impose third level sanctions against Russia and to provide Ukraine with the necessary military assistance to end the violent acts by Russia-backed terrorists in Eastern Ukraine.
“Only joint decisive actions by the international community can now realistically restore peace, order and stability in Europe,” stated UWC President Eugene Czolij.
