THE UKRAINIAN ART SONG PROJECT

On November 2nd, 2014 the world première of the art songs of four Galician composers will be showcased at the resplendent Koerner Hall:  the late romantic Denys Sichynsky, post-romantic Stanyslav Liudkevych, impressionist Vasyl Barvinsky and modernist, as well asUkraine's first female composer, Stefania Turkewich.

We invite you to support this unique event which brings the beauty and excellence of Ukrainian classical composition to one of the finest stages.  International operatic star Pavlo Hunka, bass- baritone and accomplished piano accompanist, Albert Krywolt, will be joined by acclaimed Canadian artists: Monica Whicher – soprano, Krisztina Szabó - mezzo-soprano and Russell Braun – baritone.  This concert will also feature Marie Bérard, first violinist with the Canadian Opera Company, and will be produced by the multi-talented Roman Hurko, composer, conductor and opera director.

The Ukrainian Art Song Project (UASP) is now in its 10th year.  To date, we have recorded 301 of approximately 1,100 art songs.  The Galicians I release follows those of Kyrylo Stetsenko, Yakiv Stepovyi and Mykola Lysenko.  Every element of this project, including artists, studios, engineers, production and packaging, has aspired to excellence and consequently, UASP has earned and achieved international recognition.  The mission and goals of the Ukrainian Art Song Project are being realized because of the generosity of our donors to whom we are extremely grateful.  Our goal is to make you a proud supporter of this project!

We invite you to become a launch sponsor of this significant event.  There are multiple sponsorship levels available, offering benefits and recognition as outlined in this package.  Your name, either personal or corporate, will be associated with a project that offers to the world the great cultural contribution and excellent work of Ukrainian classical composers; works that are equal to, or surpass those of other great classical composers in their beauty, melody and expression.

Our founder and artistic director, Pavlo Hunka, made a personal commitment years ago to find, record and promote these hidden treasures which elevate our Ukrainian culture in classical spheres.  This is your opportunity to also make a commitment to support a landmark event!

Imagine being a

part of this!
