The National Executive of the League of Ukrainian Canadians (LUC) and LUC - Ottawa Chapter took part in the Commemoration of the 83rd Anniversary of the Holodomor on Parliament Hill. Mr. Orest Steciw, LUCNational President and Mr. Borys Mykhaylets LUC National Vice President represented LUC National and Michael Hrycak and Dr. Mykola Bilaniuk represented LUC-Ottawa Chapter. In attendance were members of BCU Wealth Management from Toronto, Maksym Trojan and Andrew Ostapchuk, as well as Damian Snih, manager of Buduchnist Credit Union-Ottawa Branch and LUC-Ottawa Chapter executive member.
At the commemoration LUC, as it has done annually, exhibited twelve posters from its exhibit Holodomor: Genocide by Famine and which consists of 101 posters depicting copies of original photographs and documents. This exhibit was first presented in 2008. LUC’s second publication on this topic Holodomor: The Ukrainian Genocide was first published in 2014. This photo album consists of 160 pages of documents and photographs. Work has begun to create an updated version of the exhibit and the photo album.
