PRIME MINISTERS DENYS SHMYGAL AND JUSTIN TRUDEAU MET IN LONDON
Denys Shmygal expressed the gratitude for Canada's leadership in supporting Ukraine, supplying weapons and training the Ukrainian military. He stressed on that such support was a significant contribution to our victory.
The parties also discussed sanctions against russian energy resources and establishment of a tribunal to hold the russian leadership accountable for all crimes committed in Ukraine. The aggressor must pay for his war at the the court, but also to compensate for all the destruction.
Canada was the first state to pass national legislation on the confiscation of russian assets and their transfer to the restoration of Ukraine. This principle should form the basis of the future security system, so that every aggressor knows the price of his actions.
Mr. Trudeau noted that the courage of Ukraine and Ukrainians inspires the whole world, and also assured on the commitment of Canada to supporting Ukraine.
