The award presentation gala took place on March 21, 2024, at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg. Presented biannually, the $25,000 Kobzar Book Award recognizes outstanding authors exploring themes connected to the Ukrainian Canadian experience. As the community marks 130 years in Canada, this year's entries span diverse genres. Our warmest congratulations go to the winner of this year's award, Myrna Kostash! Her remarkable nonfiction work 'Ghosts in a Photograph' is a contribution to the collection of stories that share the Ukrainian Canadian experience.
